What to Expect

When you and your pet first set foot (or paws) inside our office, you'll notice that we strive to maintain a warm, welcoming, and child-friendly environment. Our office staff will greet you and your pet, prepare your paperwork, and answer any questions you may have before you and your pet meet with our veterinary staff. From there, our assistants and technicians will take the time to make your pet as comfortable as possible and get to know you both before meeting with Dr. Rivera. We are firm believers in getting to know pets and their owners. After all, your pet is a part of your family, and it is our mission to treat each pet as one of our own. By getting to know your pet, we can work to help them feel more comfortable in our office and make the entire process more enjoyable for everybody involved. When you come in for your pet’s first appointment, we won’t rush you into an exam room to start poking and prodding your pet. We will take the time to get to know you both, asking questions about your pet’s lifestyle, medical history, etc. This will be a great opportunity for you to express any concerns or questions you may have about your pet's health before completing an exam.

Your Pet’s First Exam

A wellness exam is essential for your pet’s first visit with us; this is a great way for us to learn more about your pet’s overall health and wellness, as well as get your pet up-to-date on any vaccines or immunizations. Once we’ve taken the time to get to know each other, we’ll continue with your pet’s exam, being on the lookout for any signs of potential health problems. If any issues are suspected, we may recommend additional diagnostic testing or follow-up appointments, but we’ll always take the time to make sure you’re well-informed on any test or procedure, and that we have your consent, before we move forward with any treatment.

Resources and Payment Options

We take our responsibility to keep pet owners informed and educated very seriously, which is why we always take the time to answer questions and thoroughly explain any procedures. We also maintain a blog and offer a variety of useful resources for pet owners on our website. Because we believe all pets are entitled to quality veterinary care, we offer a variety of payment options in our office. We accept debit and credit cards, as well as cash. We offer a 4% cash discount! We also offer CareCredit financing, which is a great option for unexpected veterinary costs from emergency surgeries or other urgent situations.
