Dog Diagnostic Tests Lab Tests

There are a number of wellness and preventative diagnostic tests all dogs should have, either once or annually:

  • Annual Biochemistry
  • Annual Complete Blood Count
  • Ear cytology
  • Heartworm Test
  • Fecal Analysis

Other diagnostic test are done as needed to diagnose sick and ill dogs:

  • Diagnostic Biochemistry and Complete Blood Count
  • Cytology (skin, ear, nose, blood, tumors, other tissues)
  • Fungal cultures
  • Microbiology cultures
  • Biopsy histopathology (tumors/cancer)
  • Fecal analyses
  • Giardia test
  • Parvo test
  • Pregnancy test
  • Eye scratch test (fluorescein)
  • Dry-eye test (Schirmer Tear Test)
  • Endocrine hormonal testing (thyroid, cortisone, insulin/glucose)
  • Urinalysis
  • Skin tape test
  • Skin scrape test
