Cannabis and What You Need to Know

As the interest in cannabis products grows for human use, so does the interest in the uses for animals.  However, unfortunately there are no studies to support the claim that it can benefit animals.

What we do know if that marijuana products are toxic to cats and dogs. In the case of a toxic exposure the signs can be similar to those with humans; mild toxic reactions can result in your pet appearing stoned, lethargic and red or bloodshot eyes. In the case of a severe reaction your pet may show signs such as, losing control of their bowls, walking as if they are drunk, slow breathing, vomiting and diarrhea, all of which can lead to coma or death. If you are concerned that your pet may have ingested any form of cannabis and are seeing these symptoms, it is very important to get them to a Vet!

Although the idea that cannabis may be helpful to our pets is an exciting thought, we cannot say that it is safe to use without more research and studies. We need to be safe and certain of the efficacy, safety and quality of the products. At this time there is not enough regulations and control over these products, we are unable to know what is exactly in these products.

Your pets safety is our main goal. We want to give them the best care possible, and keep you informed about the potential risks that can occur with cannabis. At this time we do not recommend the use of cannabis products with your pets.
